The following information can be shared with retailers when asked about our compliance/integrity measures.
We use a combination of system requirements, automated and manual data analysis, content assessment and user outreach to ensure the integrity of our community.
The system enforces certain requirements depending on the status of a user’s account. For example, all users must validate their Instagram account during the application process, provide a valid PayPal account to receive payment, and provide tax details if eligible for a 1099. We assess user accounts for discrepancies in the details they provide and may request additional identification if necessary.
We use both automated and manual data analysis to assess user trends and identify suspicious behavior. Metrics such as retailer or product specific performance, traffic sources, link creation, the relationship between clicks, orders and commissions, these are all taken into account when assessing an account.
On an ongoing basis, our Community Operations team monitors the content created by our users and assesses accounts based criteria, including:
Users should:
- Showcase themselves as an individual
- Use original photography/work (e.g., personally curated collages, personal photos, product reviews, etc)
- Share their personal perspectives
- Always act in good faith toward retailer partners, Collective and other members of the community
Users should not:
- Promote products without the addition of original content/photos, personal perspectives or curation
- Post glitches, "dupes", non-verified codes/coupons
Depending on the scenario, our team has the ability to warn, exclude, suspend, or even close accounts. For example, in cases where an account is flagged and reviewed for possible suspicious activity, we may request additional identification or proof of how a user is leveraging our platform. If a user cannot provide the requested information, or if the information they provide is inconsistent or misleading, we may suspend or permanently close the account. We strive to create the utmost experience for both our creators and brand partners, so we are constantly working to improve our community integrity strategy.
